Analisis Location Quotient (LQ) untuk Menentukan Sektor Basis dan Komoditas Unggulan Sub Sektor Tanaman Pangan di Kabupaten Deli Serdang

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the basis sector and identify superior commodities in the food crop subsector in Deli Serdang Regency using the Location Quotient (LQ) method. This approach is used to determine the level of comparative advantage of a sector or commodity by comparing its contribution to the regional Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) with its contribution provincially. The data used in this study comes from the Central Bureau of Statistics of North Sumatra Province and includes GRDP data and food crop commodity production for the period 2017 to 2023. The results of the analysis show that the food crop subsector in Deli Serdang Regency has an LQ value > 1 consistently, which means that this subsector is a basic sector and plays an important role in regional economic development. Furthermore, of the eight commodities analysed, only two have an average LQ value > 1, namely paddy rice and green beans, so they are categorised as leading commodities.
