| dc.description.abstract | The dissemination of electoral information is a process of delivering messages
containing facts or data that are in accordance with clear and correct realities regarding
the stages of electoral implementation from the central General Election Commission
to implementers in the field. The purpose of this research is to determine the
effectiveness of the dissemination of electoral information in 2024 in the environment
of the General Election Commission of Medan City. This research used a quantitative
approach with a survey method through open questionnaires, and observation with 19
employees and officers who were respondents at the General Election Commission of
Medan City. The data collection technique in this research was carried out by
distributing questionnaires using Google Form. The theory used was Duncan’s
effectiveness theory with three main indicators, namely goal achievement, integration,
and adaptation. The results of the research showed that the dissemination of electoral
information in 2024 at the General Election Commission of Medan City was included
in the fairly effective category with an average percentage of 64%. In the aspect of
goal achievement, the level of effectiveness reached 61%, which showed that the
information delivered by the General Election Commission was able to reach the target
and support the implementation of tasks. In the aspect of integration, the result
obtained was 63%, which meant that coordination between divisions had been
established although it was not yet fully optimal. Meanwhile, the adaptation aspect
obtained a percentage of 67%, in which the utilization of social media such as
WhatsApp and Instagram sufficiently helped the dissemination of information, but was
still constrained by limited facilities and infrastructure as well as variations in
employees’ abilities to use technology. Thus, the effectiveness of the dissemination of
electoral information in 2024 in the environment of the General Election Commission
of Medan City is considered fairly effective. | en_US |
