    Abstract
Delayed access to feed and water after transferring chicks from the incubator is a common issue. This problem is further worsened by the 24–72 hour transportation period to the rearing farm, during which the chicks endure prolonged stress, including feed and water deprivation, leading to dehydration this study aimed to evaluate the effect of Cincau Gel Spirulina platensis (CGSP) supplementation on physiological responses and hematological parameters in day-old broiler chicks (DOC). The research was conducted at PT Berdikari Hatchery, Banten, and the UPHL SKH Laboratory, IPB University, from September to October 2024. A total of 500 DOCs (44 ± 2 g) were used in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications: P0 (control), P1 (cincau gel + 25 g Spirulina), P2 (cincau gel + 50 g Spirulina), P3 (cincau gel + 75 g Spirulina), and P4 (Spirulina solution 2 g/L). Parameters observed included body temperature, live weight loss, yolk utilization, Pasgar score, and blood profiles. The results demonstrated that CGSP administration, particularly in the P2 treatment, was the most effective in reducing body weight loss, maintaining normal body temperature, and improving Pasgar scores. The P2 treatment also produced lower H/L ratios and MDA levels than the control, indicating reduced physiological and oxidative stress. Significant differences (P<0.05) were observed in body weight loss and Pasgar scores among treatments. Although the P4 treatment resulted in the greatest reduction in MDA levels, it was less effective in maintaining body weight and overall DOC quality. Overall, the P2 treatment shows strong potential as a functional supplement to enhance DOC quality. The findings indicate that delayed supplementation exacerbates physiological stress responses in broiler DOC. CGSP containing 50 g of Spirulina platensis is thus an effective functional supplement for minimizing weight loss, maintaining Pasgar scores, lowering the H/L ratio, and reducing MDA levels.
