This study aims to determine and analyze the role of the Bandar Baru Village
government in mediating land disputes occurring in its area, as well as to identify
supporting and inhibiting factors in the mediation process. The method used is a
qualitative approach with a case study. Data were obtained through interviews,
observations, and documentation from village officials, disputing parties, and
community leaders. The results show that the village government acts as a
facilitator, mediator, and arbitrator, prioritizing deliberation to reach consensus in
resolving land disputes. Supporting factors in mediation include emotional
closeness between residents and community trust in village officials. Inhibiting
factors include the lack of clear land ownership documents and limited village
authority in resolving complex conflicts. In conclusion, the Bandar Baru Village
government plays a strategic role in maintaining community harmony through land
dispute mediation, despite still facing various challenges.
