Peran Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) Keong Mas (Pomacea canaliculata) sebagai Pupuk Pertumbuhan Rumput Gajah (Pennisetum purpureum)
The Role of Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) from Golden Apple Snail (Pomacea canaliculata) as a Growth Fertilizer for Elephant Grass (Pennisetum purpureum)
Abstract
This study aimed to determine whether the application of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) made from golden apple snail (Pomacea canaliculata) could
positively influence the productivity of elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum), including plant height, leaf width, leaf length, number of tillers, fresh weight, and dry weight. The research was conducted using a Randomized Complete Block
Design (RCBD) consisting of four treatments and five replications. The treatments were P0 (without fertilizer/control), P1 (150 mL/polybag), P2 (300 mL/polybag), and P3 (450 mL/polybag). The observed parameters included plant height, leaf width, leaf length, number of tillers, fresh weight, and dry weight. The results showed that the application of LOF from golden apple snail had a significant effect (P<0.05) on plant height, leaf length, leaf width, number of tillers, and fresh weight of elephant grass, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on dry weight. Overall, the best result was obtained from treatment P2 (300 mL/polybag) and P3 (450 mL/polybag), as this dosage provided sufficient nutrients to support the growth and productivity of elephant grass.
