Indonesia as a disaster-prone country requires BASARNAS officers to face high physical and emotional pressure during rescue duties. This condition reflects high job demands that have the potential to affect workplace well-being. Job demands are work requirements that demand physical, psychological, cognitive and emotional effort, while workplace well-being refers to an affective condition resulting from the fulfillment of work-related values (Page, 2005). This study aims to determine whether job demands have an effect on workplace well-being among BASARNAS rescuers in carrying out rescue operations. The study employed a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression design. Data were collected using psychological scales consisting of the Job Demands Scale (23 items) and the Workplace Well-Being Scale (17 items), both adapted into Indonesian. The participants were 80 BASARNAS rescuers in North Sumatra. The collected data were analyzed using simple linear regression with the assistance of JASP software. The results showed that job demands did not have a significant effect on workplace well-being (R² = 0.029; p = 0.134). These findings suggest that other factors beyond job demands play a more dominant role in influencing the workplace well-being of BASARNAS rescuers.en_US
