Abstract
The research about“An Analysis of Tajweed Rules of Nun Sakinah and Tanween
in Surah Ash-Shura.” The purpose of this study is to analyze the rules of tajweed
related to nun sukun and tanwin in Surah Ash-Shura. The data collection
technique was carried out using Mahsun’s observation and note-taking method.
The results of this study show that each rule of tajwid reading has its own
differences in pronunciation. Iẓhār occurs when a nun sakinah or tanwin meets
one of the letters: ء ,هـ ,ع ,ح ,غ ,or خ .These letters are pronounced clearly without
nasalization (ghunnah). There are 17 verses containing nun sakinah, verses
containing tanwin. Idghām Bighunnah occurs when a nūn sākinah or tanwīn is
followed by one of the letters م, و, ي ,or ن .It is pronounced with assimilation and
nasalization. There are 29 verses containing nūn sākinah, 17 verses containing
tanwīn. Idgham Bilaghunnah occurs when a nūn sākinah or tanwīn is followed by
the letters ل or ر ,and it is pronounced as a merging sound without nasalization.
There is one occurrence of nūn sākinah found in verse 14, and three occurrences
of tanwīn found in verses 7, 14, and 47. Iqlāb occurs when a nūn sākinah meets
the letter “bā’”. It must be pronounced by changing the nūn sound into a mīm
sound accompanied by nasalization (ghunnah). The nūn sākinah appears in six
verses, while the tanwīn appears in seven verses. Ikhfa occurs when nun sukun and
ت, ث, ج, د, ذ, ر, ز, س, ش, ص, ض, ط, ظ, ف, :letters following the of one meet tanwin
ق ,or ك .It is pronounced with a nasalized and slightly hidden sound. There are 44
verses containing nun sukun while tanwin occurs in 15 verses. There are several
verses in which the rules of nun sukun and tanwin are not found. The conclusion of
this study shows that Surah Ash-Shura contains the tajwid rules of nun sukun and
tanwin, namely Iẓhār, Idghām BighunnahIdgham Bilaghunnah, Iqlāb, and
Ikhfa,The application of these recitation rules demonstrates the regularity of
pronunciation, which plays an important role in maintaining the accuracy of
Qur’anic recitation in accordance with proper tajwid principles.
