    Abstract
Pakkat Market is a traditional market managed by the local government located in Pakkat District. The main problem in this study is the poor sanitation conditions in Pakkat Market, characterized by a lot of scattered garbage, non-functioning drainage, inadequate clean water and toilet facilities, and the presence of many flies that have the potential to cause environmental-based diseases. This study aims to analyze the market's sanitation conditions, traders' behavior towards sanitation, and the level of fly density in Pakkat Market. The type of research uses a descriptive survey method with an observational and interview approach. The study population was 215 traders with a sample of 68 people taken randomly.Simple Random SamplingData were collected through observations of sanitation conditions, questionnaires on trader behavior (knowledge, attitudes, and actions), and measurements of fly density using the methodfly grilltest. Data analysis was conducted descriptively with reference to the Indonesian Minister of Health Regulation Number 17 of 2020 and Number 50 of 2017. The results of the study showed that the market's sanitation conditions did not meet health requirements with a value of (20.33% <70%). Market sanitation conditions that did not meet the requirements were mainly in the aspects of waste management, waste channels, toilets, clean water, and vector control. Most traders had a low level of knowledge (66.2%), negative attitudes (73.5%), and poor practices (58.8%) towards sanitation. The average fly density reached (21.6%) with a very high category, in the TPS area with a value of (25.8%). The conclusion of this study is that the sanitation conditions of Pakkat Market do not meet the requirements and the behavior of traders is still less supportive of creating a healthy market. It is recommended to improve sanitation facilities, waste management systems, as well as continuous education and coaching for traders to reduce fly density and improve the health of the market environment.
