    Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effect of vegetable waste-based liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) dosage and growing media on the growth and chlorophyll content of mustard microgreens. The research was conducted from February to March 2025 at a home garden located in Tasbih Housing Complex, Medan, and chlorophyll analysis was carried out at the Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, Medan. The experimental design used was a factorial randomized block design with two factors. The first factor was the LOF dosage with four levels: 0, 1, 2, and 3 mL/l of water. The second factor was the type of growing media with three levels: control, rice husk charcoal + topsoil, and cocopeat + topsoil, with three replications. The measured parameters included plant height, number of leaves, fresh plant weight, and chlorophyll content. The results showed that the application of vegetable waste-based liquid organic fertilizer (POC) had a significant effect on the growth and chlorophyll B and total chlorophyll content of mustard microgreens. A POC dose of 2 mL/L showed the best growth response, while a dose of 0 mL/L resulted in the highest chlorophyll B and total chlorophyll content. The type of growing media significantly affected the growth parameters and chlorophyll content of mustard microgreens, with the best results observed in the treatment using 100% topsoil. The interaction between POC dose and media type also had a significant effect on growth and chlorophyll B and total content. The combination of 2 mL/L POC with 100% topsoil produced the highest fresh weight, whereas the combination of no POC with topsoil resulted in the highest chlorophyll B and total chlorophyll content.
