    Abstract
Indonesia is a country with a republican form that adheres to a democratic system so that implementing democracy through general elections involving the political participation of the wider community is a concrete effort towards implementing a democratic system. Political participation is an important indicator of the quality of a democratic system, political participation is crucial in ensuring the running of a democratic and representative government, especially the active political participation of women. Active political participation of women is an important indicator of a healthy and inclusive democracy, although there has been much progress in gender equality, women still face various challenges in the world of politics. One of the factors that influences women's active political participation is gender identity. The low level of active political participation of women on a national scale is directly proportional to what happens in the regions, especially the city of Binjai. This research was conducted using a quantitative method that has met the scientific principles of a study, namely concrete, empirical, objective, measurable, rational, and systematic scientific. The sampling method used in this study is accidental sampling which has previously been calculated on the population using the Slovin formula whose population and sample characteristics have been determined. This study examines the relationship between gender identity and women's active political participation in Binjai City in the 2024 election. Then, after conducting research, it was concluded that gender identity is significantly related to women's active political participation in Binjai City
