Desain Evaporator Pada Sistem Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) Dengan Fluida Kerja N-pentana (C5H12) Dengan Beban Panas 5 Kw
Evaporator Design in Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) System with n-pentane (C5H12) as Working Fluid with Heat Load of 5 kW
Abstract
The ORC evaporator is a heat exchange instrument that evaporates the working fluid using a heat source (waste heat) before the fluid enters the turbine. The working fluid used in this study is n-pentane (C5H12) and the heat load used is 5kW. The ORC evaporator design process was conducted using the Aspen Plus application. Several parameters were considered, including: heat released, average temperature difference, overall heat transfer coefficient, shell diameter, pipe length, number of baffles, shell specifications, and heat exchanger effectiveness. The results of the study show that the shell and tube evaporator design for the n-pentane-based ORC system has been successfully developed with a capacity of 5 kW. The main dimensional design that meets the system requirements is: shell diameter of 0.3 m and shell height of 2 m with an AEU design type.
