This study discusses the HKBP Nainggolan Hospital in Samosir (1980-2014). The purpose of this study is to explain the condition of the HKBP Nainggolan Hospital before 1980, its development, and its contribution to the community from 1980- 2014. This study uses a qualitative research type using historical methods including heuristic stages, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Primary data were obtained from interviews and online archive sites. Secondary data were taken from books, journals, theses that explain about missionary hospitals. HKBP Nainggolan Hospital plays an important role as a health service center in Samosir, and was once a referral hospital, especially for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis (TB). However, since 2014, HKBP Nainggolan Hospital has experienced a significant decline due to a shortage of permanent doctors or medical personnel, the absence of cooperation with BPJS Kesehatan, and internal factors with the church, as well as a decline in facilities and supporting infrastructure. Nevertheless, HKBP Nainggolan Hospital continues to contribute and become a pillar of health in Samosir.en_US
