| dc.description.abstract | Unemployment remains a persistent social and economic issue in Indonesia, including in Deli Serdang Regency. Despite improvements in regional economic growth, the unemployment rate remains high, reflecting an imbalance between the labor force and the availability of employment opportunities. This study aims to analyze the strategic role of the Manpower Office of Deli Serdang Regency in reducing unemployment, identify the challenges faced, evaluate inter-sectoral coordination, and assess the effectiveness of the implemented strategies. This research employs a qualitative case study approach, utilizing both primary and secondary data, along with in-depth interviews with relevant stakeholders. The findings reveal that the Manpower Office has implemented various programs such as competency-based training, job fairs, apprenticeship programs, and partnerships with both local and international industries. However, challenges persist, including skills mismatch, limited funding, and suboptimal inter-agency coordination. The success of these programs largely depends on synergy between local government, educational institutions, industry players, and community participation. Thus, a more integrated and sustainable approach is essential to effectively reduce unemployment in the region. | en_US |
