    Abstract
The inbound warehouse at PT. JNE Main Branch Medan plays a crucial role in managing the flow of logistics packages in the North Sumatra region. However, an identified issue in the JNE Main Branch Medan inbound warehouse is the lack of consideration for activities when determining slot placement. In the current layout, slot placement is performed randomly without considering the activities occurring within the warehouse. This results in an imbalance in activity levels between slots, influenced by the number of packages stored in each slot. This study aims to provide insights that can assist company management in making decisions regarding warehouse layout improvements, offering a deeper understanding of expedition delivery, and comprehending warehouse layout design concepts. The dedicated storage method is an effective approach to optimize warehouse layout by grouping similar products in designated areas. The steps involved in using this technique include product sorting, travel distance calculation, and product placement based on the shortest to longest distance. By implementing the Throughput-Based Dedicated Storage method, there is a significant improvement in warehouse throughput by 25%. Throughput analysis and product placement demonstrate differences in operational performance between sorting slots, and by optimizing the sorting space configuration, the company can enhance operational efficiency and reduce material handling costs. Based on the findings of this study, it is concluded that the application of the Throughput-Based Dedicated Storage method can improve warehouse operational efficiency
