This study aims to examine the influence of humor styles on grief mediated by resilience, among individuals experiencing loss due to death. A quantitave explanatory research design was employed, involving 388 respondents experiencing loss due to death more than six months. Data were collected using Inventory of Complicated Grief, Humor Styles Questionnaire, and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC). The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.1.1.6 for windows. The result indicate that resilience serves as a partial mediator the effect of humor styles on grief. Resilience did not mediate the effect of affiliative humor on grief (p=.162). In contrast, resilience acted as as competitive mediator in the effect of self-enhancing humor and grief (p<.001) and as a complementary mediator in the effect of aggressive humor (p<.005) and self-defeating humor (p<.001) on grief. These findings suggest that affiliative humor directly reduces grief among bereaved individuals without the involvement of resilience, self-enhancing humor reduces grief by enhancing resilience, whereas aggressive humor and self-defeating humor are associated with reduced resilience and increased levels of grief, even several years following the death-related loss. Humor styles and resilience accounted for 56.9% of the variance in grief.en_US
