| dc.description.abstract | The braking system is a vital component in ensuring the operational safety of locomotives. This research aims to analyze the implementation of Predictive Maintenance (PdM) on the air brake system of CC201 type diesel-electric locomotives at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). The primary issue identified through Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is performance degradation due to moisture contamination, causing a response delay of up to 7.0 seconds. This study employs the three pillars of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to formulate a condition-based maintenance strategy. The results indicate that by establishing operational thresholds at the 3rd hour before functional failure occurs, system effectiveness can be significantly improved. This is evidenced by the increase in the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) score from 53.63% in the existing condition to 92.01% following the implementation of the PdM model. The research concludes that the transition from reactive to predictive maintenance effectively suppresses component degradation rates, shortens downtime duration, and ensures the reliability of the braking system at a world-class maintenance standard. | en_US |
