Palm Oil Mill (PMKS) is a sector of the palm oil industry that has a high risk of
work accidents. One of the main causes of work accidents is Unsafe Behavior.
This study aimed to identify the factors related to Unsafe Behavior among
workers at PMKS PT. Bina Rahmad Madani. This research was conducted using
a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach in the sorting, processing
shift 1, and maintenance sections, involving 30 people. Data collection was
carried out through interviews using questionnaires and observation. Educational
level,
attitude, knowledge, and unsafe behavior were measured using
questionnaires, while PPE use was measured using direct observation. The
Spearman Correlation test was used to analyze the data, which indicated a
significant relationship between the attitude variable (p=<0.001) and unsafe
behavior. Meanwhile, there was no relationship found between educational level
(p=0,976), knowledge (p=0,456), and PPE use (p=0,295) with unsafe behavior.
The research results showed that 30 workers were in the low unsafe behavior
category. Attitude is a factor that is strongly and significantly related to unsafe
behavior among workers at PMKS PT. Bina Rahmad Madani. It is recommended
for the company to enhance Safety Talk and coaching programs that focus on
improving workers' positive attitudes toward the importance of workplace safety
and compliance with PPE use.
