A vortex turbine is a micro-hydro turbine that uses water to drive its blades. The flow that occurs in this turbine forms a vortex, hence the name vortex turbine. The vortex is a unique phenomenon because it does not last long but can cause great risk. This study aims to analyze the flow in vortex turbines to obtain the characteristics and flow patterns in the flow field and to evaluate the performance of a prototype gravity vortex power generator at blade angles of 25°, 30°, and 35°. The analysis began by measuring the water flow velocity, followed by measurements of the velocity at the blade shaft and generator, and continued with measurements of the torque and power generated. Data collection was conducted for 2 minutes at 5-second intervals. The results of the study show that higher discharge tends to increase the RPM value. The maximum turbine power was obtained at 77.71 Watts at a blade angle of 25° and a discharge of 1375 LPM.
