| dc.description.abstract | This research is motivated by the transformation of the global order toward multipolarity, which encourages developing countries such as Indonesia to strengthen strategic diplomacy through more equitable multilateral forums like BRICS. The study aims to analyze the implementation of Indonesia’s domestic political policies after joining BRICS and to identify the resulting impacts and challenges on national political orientation. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with an instrumental case study method. Data were collected from official government documents, policy reports, academic literature, and international publications, then analyzed using content and critical discourse analysis.
The findings indicate that Indonesia’s membership in BRICS has led to adjustments in domestic political policies across economic, institutional, and diplomatic dimensions. Indonesia has strengthened its economic diplomacy, expanded access to development financing, and integrated South–South cooperation values into its national policy framework. However, the study also finds challenges in maintaining a balance between national interests, state sovereignty, and international commitments. Therefore, adaptive and synergistic policies are required to align BRICS’ global objectives with Indonesia’s national development goals so that the country’s participation in the forum not only enhances its international standing but also provides tangible benefits for its people. | en_US |
