    Abstract
    This study discusses the analysis of contextual meaning in the animated film Jabir Ibnu Hayyan. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of contextual meaning found in the animated film Jabir Ibnu Hayyan on the Risalah Tamadun YouTube channel. This research is a library research. The data collection technique used is the note-taking and observation method, which is developed using a descriptive qualitative approach and Pateda’s semantic theory.The results of this study show that from Episode 1 to Episode 3, there are 50 instances of contextual meaning. In Episode 1, there are 9 utterances of personal context, 3 utterances of situational context, 4 utterances of goal-oriented context, 2 utterances of emotional context, 1 utterance of place context, and 1 utterance of topic context, while no instances of time context are found. In Episode 2, there are 7 utterances of personal context, 3 utterances of situational context, 3 utterances of goal-oriented context, 2 utterances of emotional context, 3 utterances of place context, and 1 utterance of topic context, while no instances of time context are found. In Episode 3, there are 3 utterances of personal context, 2 utterances of situational context, 1 utterance of goal-oriented context, 2 utterances of emotional context, 2 utterances of place context, and 1 utterance of topic context, while no instances of time context are found.It can be concluded that this study emphasizes the importance of contextual meaning in interpreting film dialogue in a comprehensive and in-depth manner.
