dc.description.abstractBroiler chickens are one of the poultry commodities that make a major contribution in meeting the need for protein of animal origin. High ambient temperature conditions in Indonesia can cause stress or heat stress in broilers. Efforts to reduce heat stress in broilers through feed and drinking water using antioxidant compounds in plants that have the ability to capture free radicals. Fermented red galangal isolate Pediococcus pentosaceus Strain N6 and noni fruit extract is one of the natural antioxidants that can be used to overcome heat stress. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of fermented red galangal isolate Pediococcus pentosaceus Strain N6 and noni fruit extract on the digestive tract profile of broiler chickens. This research was conducted in December 2024 at the Faculty of Agriculture Cage, University of Sumatera Utara. This research method is using experimental design, namely Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments (0.025; 2; 4; 6%) and repetition 5 times. Variables observed included percentage (proventriculus, gizzard, small intestine, cecum) and length (small intestine and cecum). Data analysis used Analysis of Varience (ANOVA) and if there were significant differences, it was continued with Duncan's test. The results showed that the addition of fermented red galangal isolate Pediococcus pentosaceus Strain N6 and noni fruit extract gave a very significant effect (P < 0.01) on the length of the small intestine, but did not give a significant effect on the percentage of proventriculus, percentage of gizzard, percentage of small intestine, percentage of cecum and cecum length of broiler chickens.en_US
