dc.description.abstractThe waste management issues in Indonesia have become increasingly complex due to population growth, changes in lifestyle, and weak source-based waste management. The Government of Deli Serdang Regency has introduced a technology-based innovation in the form of the Jumpa Madu application (Pick-up Waste, Receive Money) as a solution to enhance the effectiveness of waste management through a digital approach and economic incentives. This research aims to analyze the implementation of the Jumpa Madu application in supporting waste management in Lubuk Pakam District, with a focus on community participation, implementation effectiveness, and the challenges encountered. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach using a case research design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation from relevant parties, including the Environmental Agency, the BERSERI Main Waste Bank, and community members who use the application. The findings indicate that community participation is relatively high, particularly among active application users who have understood the economic benefits of waste segregation. The application has proven effective in scheduling waste collection and in increasing the economic value of segregated waste. However, the main challenges encountered include limited digital literacy among some community members, constraints in technical resources, and unequal access to information. This research concludes that Jumpa Madu is an innovation with the potential to strengthen a circular economy-based waste management system at the local level. More optimal implementation requires cross-sectoral synergy, continuous education, and strengthened regulatory support as well as digital infrastructure.en_US
