This theory states that there are seven classifications of emotions, namely: the concept of guilt, repressed guilt, shame, self-punishment, sadness, hatred, and love. The purpose of this study is to describe the emotional classifications of the main characters in the novel Yang Telah Lama Pergi by Tere Liye. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection techniques including literature study, reading, and note-taking. The data in this study consists of excerpts from the novel that indicate traits or characteristics related to the emotional classifications of the main characters. The data analysis technique involves presenting the data, recording and observing it, explaining the research findings, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study involve analyzing the emotional classifications of the character Remasut and Mas’ud in the novel Yang Telah Lama Pergi using David Krech’s theory. Based on the analysis of the novel Yang Telah Lama Pergi by Tere Liye, it was found that the elements of literary psychology according to David Krech, namely the emotions of guilt, repressed guilt, shame, self-punishment, sadness, hatred, and love are clearly illustrated through the experiences and actions of the characters Mas’ud and Remasut. The most dominant and least dominant emotional classifications in the main characters, Mas’ud and Remasut, can be observed from the number of emotional expressions attributed to each character. Based on the collected data, it can be concluded that emotional classifications are more dominant in the character Remasut than in Mas’ud. This is evident from the 44 emotional classification data points found in Remasut, compared to only 8 data points identified in Mas’ud. | en_US |
