dc.description.abstractSelf-efficacy is an individual's belief in their ability to organize and carry out the actions necessary to achieve goals, while academic procrastination is the tendency to delay completing academic tasks even though the individual is aware of the negative consequences of the delay. This study aims to determine the role of self-efficacy on academic procrastination in students of SMA Negeri 1 Galang. The sample in this study amounted to 238 students. The measuring instruments used consisted of the Self-Efficacy Scale constructed by Mujahidah (2023) based on Bandura's theory (1997) and the Pure Procrastination Scale (PPS) Academic Procrastination Scale constructed by Piers Steel, then modified by Ansyah and Pratiwi (2024). The results of the study showed that self-efficacy has a significant role in academic procrastination in students of SMA Negeri 1 Galang (p=0,000, p<0,05) with a contribution of 56.3% (R Square = 0.563), while the remaining 43.7% was influenced by other factors outside this study. These findings indicate that the higher a student's self-efficacy, the lower their tendency to engage in academic procrastination. These research findings indicate the importance of developing self-efficacy as a means of reducing academic procrastination in students.en_US
