| dc.description.abstract | Research on aggressive behavior in adolescents is important, as adolescence is a developmental period characterized by intense emotional changes. One psychological factor believed to be associated with aggressive behavior is emotional intelligence. This study aimed to examine the role of emotional intelligence in aggressive behavior among students of SMPN 10 Medan. The sample consisted of 102 students of SMPN 10 Medan, selected using a saturated sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were the Emotional Intelligence Scale developed by Fitri (2023) based on the aspects of emotional intelligence proposed by Goleman (1995), and the Aggressive Behavior Scale developed by the researcher based on the aspects of aggressive behavior proposed by Buss and Perry (1992). Data were analyzed using simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The results of the simple linear regression analysis showed a significance value of 0.188 (p > 0.05), indicating that emotional intelligence does not have a significant effect on aggressive behavior among students of SMPN 10 Medan. | en_US |
