dc.description.abstract | Sungai Percut merupakan salah satu sungai di Sumatera Utara yang digunakan sebagai sumber
air baku instalasi pengolahan air PDAM Tirtanadi, irigasi, serta keperluan manusia sehari-hari.
Hulu Sungai Percut berada di Tanah Karo melintasi Kabupaten Deli Serdang dan hilirnya
terletak di Bagan Percut, sehingga kualitas airnya dipengaruhi oleh perilaku masyarakat dan
kegiatan disekitarnya. Saat ini belum ada informasi mengenai beban pencemar terhadap Sungai
Percut. Oleh karena itu dilakukan penelitian ini pada minggu ketiga bulan Agustus tahun 2018
dengan tujuan untuk menghitung beban pencemar (TSS dan Total Coliform) serta mengetahui
pengaruh perilaku masyarakat terhadap kualitas air Sungai Percut. Berdasarkan hasil
perhitungan, diketahui bahwa untuk parameter TSS memiliki beban pencemar tertinggi pada
Titik 2 (6.413,90 kg/hari) dan terendah pada Titik 1 (3.893,18 kg/hari), sedangkan untuk
parameter Total Coliform memiliki beban pencemar tertinggi pada Titik 1 (4,06 x 1012
jumlah/hari) dan terendah pada Titik 2 (2,90 x 1011 jumlah/hari). Perilaku masyarakat
Kecamatan Medan Denai mempengaruhi kualitas air Sungai Percut, hal ini diketahui dari hasil
kuesioner bahwa sebanyak 62% responden mengalirkan limbah cair rumah tangga ke sungai,
41% responden membuang sampah ke sungai, 13% responden mencuci di sungai, 13%
responden melakukan kegiatan mandi, buang air besar dan buang air kecil di sungai, 16%
responden membuang pestisida ke sungai, 30% responden membuang hewan yang mati ke
sungai, 18% responden membuang limbah hewan ke sungai, 36% responden mengalirkan
limbah tinja langsung ke sungai, dan diketahui pula bahwa 11% responden masih menggunakan
air Sungai Percut sebagai sumber air bersih. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Percut river is one of the rivers in North Sumatera which is used as a raw water for the PDAM
Tirtanadi water treatment plant, irrigations, and everyday human needs. The upstream of
Percut River is in Tanah Karo passes through Kabupaten Deli Serdang and the downstream is
in Bagan Percut, so the water quality of Percut River is affected by human behaviors and
activities around it. There’s no information about the pollutant load on Percut River before.
Having this condition, this research was conducted in third week of August 2018 to calculating
the pollutant loads (TSS and Total Coliform) and knowing the affect of human behaviors on
water quality of Percut River. The result showed that TSS has the highest pollutant load at Point
2 (6.413,90 kg/day) and the lowest at Point 1 (3.893,18 kg/day), while Total Coliform has the
highest pollutant load at Point 1 (4,06 x 1012 number/day) and the lowest at Point 2 (2,90 x 1011
number/day). The human behaviors in Kecamatan Medan Denai are affected the water quality
of Percut River, it’s known from the results of the questionnaire that 62% of respondents flow
their household wastewater into the river, 41% of respondents throw their garbage into the
river, 13% of respondents wash in the river, 13% of respondents do bathing, defecating and
urinating in the river, 16% of respondents throw pesticides into the river, 30% of respondents
dispose of dead animals into the river, 18% of respondents throw animal waste into the river,
36% of respondents flow feces directly into the river, and 11% of respondents still use water
from the Percut River as a clean water source. | en_US |
