    Pengaruh Variasi Diameter Diffuser dan pH Terhadap Penyisihan Besi dan Peningkatan DO pada Air Tanah Secara Aerasi

    Abstract
    Aerasi efektif dalam menyisihkan kandungan besi dan meningkatkan nilai DO. Keefektifan proses aerasi dapat diteliti dari dinamika gelembung udara yang dipengaruhi oleh diameter diffuser dan pH air. Penelitian tentang pengaruh variasi diameter diffuser dan pH terhadap penyisihan besi dan peningkatan DO pada air tanah dilakukan dengan mengambil variasi diameter diffuser 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm, dan 0.8 mm. Diffuser menggunakan 2 lengan dengan masing-masing lengan panjangnya 7.5 cm dan memiliki 13 lubang diffuser dengan jarak antar lubang sebesar 0.5 cm. Kecepatan aliran udara 3 liter/menit dan volume air uji sebanyak 1 liter. Reaktor yang digunakan merupakan tabung gelas dengan tinggi tabung sebesar 19.5 cm dan diameter tabung sebesar 14 cm. Rentang pH ditentukan pada titik 3, 5, 9, dan 11. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diffuser dengan diameter 0.8 mm memberikan tingkat penyisihan yang optimal dengan efisiensi mencapai 98.83%. Proses aerasi pada kondisi basa (pH 11)menyisihkan besi sebesar 76.91% lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan kondisi asam (pH 3) yang menyisihkan besi sebesar 63.07%. Diffuser berdiameter 0.8 mm menghasilkan DO yang maksimal dalam waktu 6 menit lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan diffuser berdiameter 0.4 mm (13 menit) dan 0.6 mm (10 menit). Dari hasil perhitungan diperoleh koefisien transfer gas ((KLa) oksigen sebesar 0.0917/menit untuk diameter 0.4 mm, 0.0896/menit untuk diameter 0.6 mm, dan 0.0729/menit untuk diameter 0.8 mm.
     
    Aeration is effective in removing iron content and increasing the values of DO. The effectiveness of the aeration process can be studied from the dynamics of air bubbles that are influenced by diameter of diffuser and pH of the water. Research about the effect of variations of diameter diffuser and pH on iron removal and DO increase in groundwater was carried out by taking variations in diameters diffuser of 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm, and 0.8 mm. Diffuser uses 2 arms with each arm has 7.5 cm long and has 13 diffuser holes with a distance between of holes are 0.5 cm. Air flow rate is 3 liters / minute and the volume of test water is 1 liter. The reactor used is a glass tube with height 19.5 cm and diameter 14 cm. The pH range was determined at points 3, 5, 9, and 11. The results showed that a diffuser with a diameter 0.8 mm provided an optimal level of elimination with efficiency reaching 98.83%. The aeration process in alkaline conditions (pH 11) set aside iron up to 76.91% more effective than acidic conditions (pH 3) which set aside iron up to 63.07%. At 0.8 mm diffuser produces maximum DO in 6 minutes faster than a diffuser with a diameter 0.4 mm (13 minutes) and 0.6 mm (10 minutes). From the calculation results obtained the oxygen transfer coefficient ((KLa) of oxygen is 0.0917 / minute for diameter 0.4 mm, 0.0896 / minute for diameter 0.6 mm, and 0.0729 / minute for diameter 0.8 mm.
