    Abstract
Anthropogenic activity in the Deli watershed generates a wide range of waste carried by rainwater runoff and flowed into the Deli River until finally charged in the coastal area of Muara Deli. Paluh Merbau is a source of water for fisheries activities in Tanjung Rejo Village which still includes the coastal area of Muara Deli.Milkfish is one of several fish farming commodities in Tanjung Rejo village which is suspected to be contaminated with heavy metals. This study aims to calculate the amount of heavy metal concentration absorbed by milkfish and accumulate in pond waters and substrate. The parameters observed were the physics-chemical parameters of the waters and the concentration of heavy metals cadmium and lead in the water column, sediment, liver and gills of Milkfishwhich was then analyzed using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). The result of UPT LPPMHP Medan test showed that the concentration of cadmium and lead on milkfish’s liver, milkfish’s gill and pond substrate has been contaminated by heavy metals cadmium and lead but still belowqualitystandards. It should be noted that the pond waters of Tanjung Rejo Village have also been polluted by cadmium and lead and even it contents have exceeded the permissible quality standar threshold.
