Relative Pronoun in J.K Rowling's Novel "Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire" in Relation to Its Translation

Abstract

This thesis entitled ―Relative Pronoun In J.K Rowling's Novel "Harry Potter And The Goblet Fire" In Relation To Its Translation‖. This thesis analyzed the relative pronoun found in the novel and also how Listiana Srisanti as the translator of ―Harry Potter dan Piala Api‖ translate the relative pronoun from english novel (SL) into bahasa Indonesia (TL). It aims to found out the relative pronoun that dominantly used in novel. The data which is used in this thesis is taken from J.K Rowlings‘s novel ―Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire‖ and the translation ―Harry Potter dan Piala Api‖ which is translated by Listiana Srisanti. The objectives of this study are (1) to find out what relative pronoun are found in J.K Rowling‘s novel ―Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire‖ (2) To find out how the relative pronouns translated into Bahasa Indonesia ―Harry Potter Dan Piala Api‖. the find out of this study are, relative pronoun that were dominantly found and translated version is yang, in translating relative pronouns, sometimes the translator used the conjunction.

Skripsi Ini Berjudul ― Relative Pronoun dalam Novel J.K Rowling ―Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire‖ Sehubungan Dengan Penerjemahannya‖ Skripsi ini menganalisa Relative Pronoun yang di temukan di dalam novel dan bagaimana Listiana Srisanti, selaku penerjemah ―Harry Potter Dan Piala Api‖ menerjemahkan Relative Pronoun dari novel berbahasa Inggris ke Bahasa Indonesia. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk menemukan Relative Pronoun yang paling sering digunakan di novel. Data yang di gunakan di dalam skripsi ini berasal dari novel J.K. Rowling yang berjudul ―Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire‖ dan terjemahannya ―Harry Potter dan Piala Api‖ yang diterjemahkan oleh Listiana Srisanti. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini ialah (1) untuk menemukan relative pronoun yang terdapat dan yang paling sering digunakan di dalam novel J.K. Rowling ―Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire‖. (2) untuk menemukan bagaimana relative pronoun di terjemahkan ke Bahasa Indonesia. Temuan dari skripsi ini ialah , relative pronoun yang paling sering ditemukan adalah kata that dan versi terjemahannya adalah yang, dalam menerjemahkan relative pronoun, terkadang penerjemah menggunakan konjungsi karena promina relativa berhubungan dengan konjungsi.
