dc.description.abstractThe title of this paper is “An Interpretation of Meaning in Muse’s Black Holes & Revelations”. This study describes about an interpretation of meaning of six songs (Take a Bow, Starlight, Invincible, Knights of Cydonia, Map of the Problematique, and City of Delusion) in the Black Holes & Revelations, a studio album by Muse, an English Rock Band. To overcome the problem in finding the meaning, the writer uses stylistic method. The purpose of this paper is finding the meaning and concluding the figure of speech that is used. There are some language style has been found on this album such as metaphor, personification, symbol, hyperbole, irony and simile. During the process of writing this paper, the writer uses library method with collecting books that related to the topic as the references and also browsing from several sources from the internet. In the first chapter the writer describes the background, problem of study, scope of study, purpose and method of study. Second chapter contains about the description of song lyric, poetry, language style and stylistic approach. Chapter three contains about the description of meaning and language style from each song. The last chapter contains about the conclusion and suggestion of the paper.en_US
