| dc.description.abstract | The research entitled Critical Discourse Analysis in President Erdogan Speeches on The Republic of Turkey Official Website. Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) is an interdisciplinary approach to the study of discourse that views language as a form of social practice and focuses on the ways social and political domination are reproduced by text and talk. This study employs the Teun A. Van Dijk’s Critical Discourse Analysis to analyze President Erdogan selected speeches published on the Republic of Turkey Official Website. Specifically, this study aims to discover the answer of two questions: First, what are the topics which are realized in President Erdogan’s Speeches, and second, how are the microstructure elements realized in President Erdogan’s speeches on the Republic of Turkey Official Website. The method of the research used in the study is descriptive qualitative method. The data are obtained from the text of speech transcripts uttered by President Erdogan. The analysed data show the topics realized in the selected speeches and the microstructure elements that construct them. Two aspects in microstructure elements such as disclaimer and rhetorical questions are not found in the selected speeches. Moreover, microstructure elements show how Erdogan tries to create his image in front of his citizens as a powerful person in Turkey. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Penelitian ini berjudul Critical Discourse Analysis in President Erdogan Speeches on The Republic of Turkey Official Website. Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK) adalah pendekatan indisipliner dalam ilmu wacana yang memandang bahasa sebagai bentuk dari praktik sosial dan fokus pada bagaimana sosial dan dominasi politis diproduksi di dalam teks maupun percakapan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Analisis Wacana Kritis Teun A. Van Dijk dalam menganalisis beberapa pidato Presiden Erdogan yang dimuat dalam Website resmi Pemerintahan Turki. Secara khusus, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab dua pertanyaan: Pertama, apa topik yang direalisasikan dalam pidato Presiden Erdogan, dan kedua, bagaimana elemen mikrostrukturnya direalisasikan di dalam pidato tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang digunakan diperoleh dari teks pidato oleh Presiden Erdogan. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bagaimana topik direalisasikan dalam pidato tersebut beserta elemen mikrostruktur yang menyusunnya. Dua aspek dalam elemen mirostruktur seperti disclaimer dan pertanyaan retoris tidak ditemukan dalam beberapa pidato yang dianalisis. Mikrostruktur elemen juga menunjukkan bagaimana Erdogan mencoba menampilkan imej tertentu akan dirinya di hadapan rakyat sebagai orang terkuat di Turki. | en_US |
