    Language Style in Malala Nobel Peace Prize Speech

    Abstract
    This thesis entitled “LANGUAGE STYLE IN MALALA NOBEL PEACE PRIZE SPEECH” contains a study of language style. Language style analysis in this paper uses the theory of Martin Joss (1967) to identify language styles that are divided into 5 by Martin Joss, namely Frozen Style, Formal Style, Consultative Style, Casual Style and Intimate Style. The method used in analyzing the problem in this paper is a qualitative descriptive method. The author chose Malala's speech which contained 141 data to be analyzed. After analyzing the speech, the author found that Frozen Style 4 data (2.9%), Formal Style 131 data (92.9%), Casual Style 5 data (3.5%), Consultative Style 1 data (0.7% ) In this analysis the authors find that the dominant language style used in Malala's speech is Formal Style with a percentage of 92.9% of the total 100%.
     
    Skripsi ini berjudul ―LANGUAGE STYLE IN MALALA NOBEL PEACE PRIZE SPEECH‖ berisi kajian tentang language style. Analisis language style di dalam skripsi ini menggunakan teori Martin Joss (1967) untuk mengidentifikasi language style yang dibagi menjadi 5 oleh Martin Joss, yaitu Frozen Style, Formal Style, Consultative Style, Casual Style dan Intimate Style. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam menganalisis masalah dalam skripsi ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Penulis memilih pidato Malala yang berisi 141 data untuk dianalisis. Setelah menganalisis pidato tersebut, penulis menemukan bahwa Frozen Style 4 data (2,9%), Formal Style 131 data (92,9%), Casual Style 5 data (3,5%), Consultative Style 1 data (0,7%). Di dalam analisis ini penulis menemukan bahwa language style yang dominan digunakan dalam Malala’s speech adalah Formal Style dengan persentase 92,9% dari total keseluruhan 100%.
