dc.description.abstract | Utilization of coastal sandy soil in agricultural is limited due to the nutritional deficiency of the soil. Utilization of mangrove rhizobacteria Api-api (Avicennia marina (Forssk.) Vierh) may become an alternative in promoting plant growth in the coastal sandy soil. This study aimed to isolate mangrove rhizobacteria able in fixing nitrogen, solubilizing phosphate, producing indol acetic acid (IAA) and promoting corn growth (Zea mays). Soil samples were taken purposively in random sampling method. Mangrove rhizobacteria were isolated using Jensen and Nutrient Agar medium. The rhizobacteria were screened based on their ability to fix nitrogen, to solubilize phosphate and to produce IAA. Selected rhizobacterial isolates were applied to corn in planta in Complete Randomized Design with two factors and nine treatments. The result showed that 7 isolates exhibited to nitrogen fixation, phosphate solubilization, and IAA production. However, two isolates MI2 and MI11 showed more in solubilizing phosphate and producing IAA. MI2 showed to solubilize phosphate of 98 mg/L, following by MI11 by 88mg/L. Moreover these two isolates were able to produce IAA by 165 mg/L and 174 mg/L, respectively. Application of PNB11 namely combination treatment of coastal soil, NPK and rhizobacteria MI11 demonstrated to promote more on plant growth, i.e. leaf surface area, shoot fresh and dry weight of corn. Identification using 16S rRNA genes of isolates MI1 and MI11 showed that these two isolates were closed to Enterobacter cloacae with percentage of 99 and 100% respectively. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Pemanfaatan lahan pasir pantai untuk sektor pertanian masih terbatas dikarenakan minimnya ketersediaan unsur hara. Pemanfaatan rizobakteri mangrove api-api (Avicennia marina (Forssk.) Vierh) dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman pada lahan pasir pantai tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan kemampuan rizobakteri dalam menambat nitrogen, melarutkan fosfat, produksi indole acetic acid (IAA) dan memacu pertumbuhan jagung (Zea mays). Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive random sampling. Rizobakteri diisolasi dengan media Jensen dan Nutrien agar. Isolat rizobakteri diseleksi kemampuannya dalam menambat nitrogen, melarutkan fosfat dan produksi IAA. Aplikasi rizobakteri terpilih dilakukan pada jagung menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) 2 faktor yang menghasilkan 9 perlakuan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 7 isolat rizobakteri yang memiliki kemampuan menambat nitrogen, melarutkan fosfat dan produksi IAA. Dua isolat MI2 dan MI11 menunjukkan kemampuan tertinggi dalam melarutkan fosfat dan produksi IAA. MI2 menunjukkan kemampuan melarutkan fosfat sebesar 98 mg/L, diikuti MI11 sebesar 88 mg/L. Kedua isolat juga mampu memproduksi IAA masing-masing sebesar 165 mg/L dan 174 mg/L. Aplikasi PNB11 yaitu perlakuan kombinasi tanah pantai, NPK dan rizobakteri MI11 menunjukkan peningkatan pertumbuhan tanaman, yaitu luas daun, berat basah tajuk dan berat kering tajuk jagung. Identifikasi menggunakan gen 16S rRNA menunjukkan bahwa kedua isolat merupakan Enterobacter cloacae dengan persentase masing-masing 99% dan 100%. | en_US |
