Pengaruh Modernisasi Terhadap Konfigurasi Pemimpin Masyarakat Batak Toba di Kecamatan Silaen

Abstract

Penulisan skripsi yang berjudul “Pengaruh Modernisasi terhadap Konfigurasi Pemimpin Masyarakat Batak Toba di Kecamatan Silaen”, berawal dari ketertarikan penulis terhadap hadirnya modernisasi dan pengaruhnya terhadap tipe pemimpin di tengah masyarakat tradisional Kecamatan Silaen. Modernisasi (teknologi dan fasilitas sarana prasarana sosial ekonomi) telah mengubah cara hidup masyarakat tradisional atau pra-modern ke arah modern yang lebih ekonomis dan rasional.Modernisasi mempengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan masyarakat, baik itu yang menyangkut material maupun nonmaterial, seperti pola pikir dan tingkah laku. Oleh sebab itu semakin tinggi tingkat modernisasi masyarakat maka cara berpikirnya juga akan semakin modern dan rasional. Cara berpikir yang semakin modern dan rasional tersebut juga mempengaruhi konfigurasi pemimpin masyarakat, yang jauh lebih memilih pemimpin rasional legal daripada pemimpin kharismatis dan tradisional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Dalam penelitian ini, terdapat dua variabel yaitu modernisasi dan konfigurasi pemimpin. Untuk mewakili jumlah keseluruhan penduduk, maka yang menjadi populasi sampling dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 3.268 jiwa yang diambil dari jumlah rumah tanggadi Kecamatan Silaen. Teknik penarikan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik random sampling, dimana jumlah sampel adalah 97 orang. Adapun yang menjadi kriteria responden dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Batak Toba di Kecamatan Silaen yang aktif dalam kegiatan organisasi kemasyarakatan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran angket atau kuesioner kepada masyarakat Batak Toba. Data yang didapat dari penelitian dimasukkan ke dalam kode dan tabel, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji regresi linear sederhana dan korelasi product moment dengan menggunakan program SPSS. Berdasarkan data-data yang telah dikumpulkan dan dianalisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengaruh modernisasi terhadap konfigurasi pemimpin masyarakat Batak Toba di Kecamatan Silaen memiliki hubungan positif sangat lemah dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,135. Nilai taraf signifikan 5% dari N=97 didapat nilai r tabel 0,1996. Nilai r-hitung< r-tabel sehingga Ho diterima, sedangkan Ha ditolak. Artinya tidak terdapat pengaruh modernisasi terhadap konfigurasi pemimpin masyarakat Batak Toba di Kecamatan Silaen. Adapun besarnya pengaruh modernisai terhadap konfigurasi pemimpin adalah sebesar 1,8%.

Modernization affects various aspects of people's lives, be it regarding material or nonmaterial, like thought patterns and behavior. Therefore, the higher the level of modernization of the society then patterns thought also increasingly modern and rational. The patterns thought the more modern and rational also affects configuration leader society, who are much more rational and legal rather than elect a kharismatis leader and traditional leaders. Research methods used in this research is correlation descriptive research with quantitative approaches. In this study, there are two variables, namely the modernization and the configuration of the leader. To represent the total number of inhabitants, then that becomes the population sampling in this research is as much a 3,268soul taken from the total number of households in district Silaen. Techniques withdrawal of sample in this study using random sampling techniques, where the number of samples was 97 person. As for the criteria of becoming respondents in this research is a Batak Toba's society in Silaen and active in the activities of civic organizations.The data collection techniques done by the spread of question form or questionnaire to Batak Toba's society. Data obtained from research put into the code and tables, then analyzed with test regression linear simple and correlation product moment by using program SPSS. Based on the data that has been collected and analyzed can be concluded that the influence of modernization against Batak Toba's society leader configuration in Silaen has very weak positive relationship with the value of the correlation coefficient of 0.135. The significant value level 5% of the N = 96 obtained value r table 0.1996. The value of r-calculate< r-table so Ho accepted, while the Ha is denied. This means that no influence of modernization against Batak Toba's society leader configuration in Silaen. As for the magnitude of the influence of modernization against the configuration of the leader is 1.8%.
