The Problems of Human Trafficking in Pamala Kennedy’s Novel More Than Rice

Abstract

This thesis entitled The Problems of Human Trafficking in Pamala Kennedy‘s Novel More Than Rice. This thesis discusses about the problems of human trafficking which is devoted in problem of woman exploitation, sexual abuse and torture. The writer wants to give information about capitalism of human trafficking potrayed in the novel More Than Rice to the readers and to improve the understanding about unequal social culture of women in some countries. The writer uses the descriptive-qualitative method that describes the analysis according to the description of the results related to the research in this thesis. From the results of this analysis, the writer takes the conclusion that this problems should be handled or solved together until the subject of the biggest problems and each victims are trafficked still have some options to have a freedom or get out of the traps with their respective ways.

Skripsi ini berjudul The Problems of Human Trafficking in Pamala Kennedy‘s Novel More Than Rice. Skripsi ini membahas tentang masalah-masalah perdagangan manusia yang dikhususkan pada masalah pemanfaatan wanita, pelecehan sexual dan penyiksaan. Penulis ingin memberikan informasi mengenai capitalism dalam perdagangan manusia yang dituangkan dalam novel More Than Rice kepada pembaca dan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai budaya sosial yang timpang terhadap wanita di beberapa negara. Dalam mengerjakan penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang menjelaskan analisis sesuai dengan uraian hasil penelitian yang terkait. Dari hasil analisis ini, penulis memperoleh kesimpulan bahwa masalah ini harus ditangani atau dipecahkan bersama sampai pokok masalah terbesar dan setiap korban yang diperdagangkan masih mempunyai pilihan untuk hidup bebas atau keluar dari perangkap tersebut dengan cara mereka masing-masing.
