The Ability to Master Stock Market Terms by Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Employees At Lampung Branch Office

Abstract

This thesis entitled “THE ABILITY TO MASTER STOCK MARKET TERMS BY INDONESIA STOCK EXCHANGE (IDX) EMPLOYEES AT LAMPUNG BRANCH OFFICE” is a research to find out the ability to master the stock market terms by IDX employees at Lampung branch office. Besides, the writer also finds out how they learn and apply the stock market terms in their daily working activities. In this thesis, the writer uses test, observation, and interview in collecting the data. Descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods are used in analyzing the data. In this thesis, the writer takes all IDX employees at Lampung branch office as the population and the stock market terms that are always applied in the IDX daily working activities as the object of research. The results of this thesis shown that ability to master stock market terms depend on how they apply and learn the language. It can be proved by the results of this thesis : there are just 20% (2 of 10) of IDX employees at Lampung branch office who master the stock market terms individually. Generally, all IDX employees at Lampung branch office don’t master the stock market terms; 80% (8 of 10) of IDX employees at Lampung branch office learn the stock market terms by reading some books and internet websites themselves; and just 50% (5 of 10) of IDX employees at Lampung branch office always apply the terms in their daily working activities.

Skripsi yang berjudul “THE ABILITY TO MASTER STOCK MARKET TERMS BY INDONESIA STOCK EXCHANGE (IDX) EMPLOYEES AT LAMPUNG BRANCH OFFICE” merupakan suatu penelitian untuk mengetahui kemampuan pegawai Bursa Efek Indonesia di kantor cabang Lampung dalam menguasai istilah-istilah pasar modal. Selain itu, Penulis juga akan menemukan bagaimana mereka mempelajari dan mengaplikasikan istilah-istilah pasar modal tersebut dalam kegiatan kerja mereka sehari-hari. Dalam penelitian ini, Penulis menggunakan test, pengamatan, dan wawancara dalam pengumpulan data. Metode yang digunakan dalam analisis ini adalah metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penulis mengambil karyawan Bursa Efek Indonesia yang bekerja di kantor cabang Lampung sebagai populasi dan istilah-istilah pasar modal yang selalu digunakan dalam kegiatan kerja sehari-hari di Bursa Efek Indonesia sebagai objek penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan dalam menguasai istilah-istilah pasar modal tergantung pada bagaimana mereka mengaplikasikannya dan mempelajarinya. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil penelitian ini : hanya ada 20% (2 dari 10) pegawai Bursa Efek Indonesia di kantor cabang Lampung yang benar-benar mampu menguasai istilah-istilah pasar modal secara individual. Secara umum, mereka tidak mampu menguasai istilah-istilah pasar modal; 80% (8 dari 10) pegawai Bursa Efek Indonesia kantor cabang Lampung mempelajari istilah-istilah itu dengan membaca beberapa buku yang berkaitan dan internet; dan hanya 50% (5 dari 10) pegawai Bursa Efek Indonesia kantor cabang Lampung selalu mengaplikasikan istilah-istilah itu dalam kegiatan kerja mereka sehari-hari.
