The Interpretation of Walt Whitman’s Poems

Abstract

This paper entitled “The Interpretation of Walt Whitman Poems” analyzes the implied meaning in three selected poems by Walt Whitman, they are “I Hear America Singing”, “Goodbye My Fancy” and “Miracles”. In doing this paper, the writer interprets the meaning of the three poems that have chosen. The main purpose of this paper is to interpret lyric from each stanza of those three selected poems and to find out the meaning that the Author is trying to tell. This paper is written using descriptive qualitative method.

Kertas karya berjudul “The Interpretation of Walt Whitman Poems” ini menganalisis makna yang tersirat pada tiga puisi terpilih karya Walt Whitman, yaitu “I Hear America Singing”, “Goodbye My Fancy” and “Miracles”. Dalam penulisan pengerjaannya, penulis mengiterpretasikan makna dari tiga puisi yng telah dipilih. Tujuan utama dari penulisan kertas karya ini adalah untuk menginterpretasikan lirik dari setiap stanza dari puisi ketiga puisi dan untuk menemukan makna yang sebenarnya yang ingin dituturkan oleh pengarang. Kertas karya ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif.
