An Analysis of Phrases Used in Globe Asia Magazine

Abstract

The title of this paper is AN ANALYSIS OF PHRASES USED IN GLOBE ASIA MAGAZINE.Discusses about The five formal categories of phrases.The purpose of this paper to to find the types of phrase and to find what is the dominant phrase. The writer uses in Globe Asia Magazine show as a data. Globe Asia magazine is considered as an effective articles to analyze phrases. The writer’ analyze are three headline articles in Globe Asia Magazine , Published on November 2015. Descriptive qualitative methods is used in this paper.Theresult in this paper are 40% noun phrases, 18,5% verb phrases, 7% adjective phrases. 7,5% adverb phrases and 27,5% prepositional phrases. The number of sentence in this paper are 200 sentences. The writer als found the dominant phrase is used. The theory used in this paper is Quirk(1985:60).

Kertas karya ini berjudul AN ANALYSIS OF PHRASES USED IN GLOBE ASIA MAGAZINE. Membahas tentang 5 kategori umum dari frasa. Tujuan dari kertas karya ini untuk menemukan tipe frasa dan menemukan frasa apa yang dominan di dalam majalah Globe Asia. Penulis menggunakan majalah Globe Asia sebagai data. Majalah Globe Asia termasuk artikel yang efektif untuk di analisis.Penulis menganalisis tiga artikel di majalah Globe Asia, yang terbit pada bulan November 2015. Kertas karya ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil dari kertas karya ini adalah 40% frasa nomina, 18,5 frasa verba, 7 frasa adjektiva, 7,5 frasa adverbial and 27,5% frasa preposisi. Jumlah kata yang terdapat dalam analisis frasa adalah 200 kata. Dan penulis menemukan frasa yang dominan.Teori yang digunakan dalam kertas karya ini adalah Quirk(1985:60)
