    Preparasi dan Karakteristik Elektromagnetik dari Komplek Fe-Basa Schiff Kitosan

    Abstract
    Chitosan Schiff base (BS) has been synthesized through reaction of chitosan with salycilaldehyde, next, chitosan Schiff base (BS) reacted with Fe to form Fe-chitosan Schiff base complex (BSF). The presence of Schiff base confirmed by FT-IR at 1604,77 cm-1 for imine group. Chitosan soluble in acidic solution while chitosan Schiff base partially dissolve. Subsequently, absorption of Fe was determine with ICP-MS at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 hours (BSF 1, BSF2, BSF 3, BSF 4, BSF 5) resulting 269,98, 289, 311,8, 361,06, 492,51 ppm. The electrical condictivity show tendency to increase although it’s not significant for acetic acid 1%, chitosan, BS, BSF 1, BSF2, BSF 3, BSF 4, BSF 5 are 267,3 x 10-6, 268,0 x 10-6, 268,5 x 10-6, 268,9 x 10-6, 268,8 x 10-6, 268,3 x 10-6, 269,1 x 10-6, 269,7 x 10-6 S/cm respectively. VSM measurement showed that chitosan and chitosan Schiff base have weak paramagnetic order, meanwhile Fe-chitosan Schiff base (BSF) thin film have diamagnetic and paramagnetic at the same time, the value of saturated magnetization (Ms) 9.40 emu/gram.
     
    Basa Schiff kitosan (BS) disintesis melalui reaksi antara kitosan dengan salisilaldehid, selanjutnya basa Schiff (BS) direaksikan dengan Fe membentuk komplek Fe-basa Schiff kitosan (BSF). Pembentukan basa Schiff dikonfirmasi menggunakan spektroskopi FT-IR pada bilangan gelombang 1604,77 cm-1 untuk gugus imina. Kitosan larut dalam larutan asam sementara basa Schiff kitosan larut sebagian. Kemudian serapan Fe diuji menggunakan ICP-MS pada variasi waktu 1, 2, 3, 4 dan 5 jam (BSF 1, BSF2, BSF 3, BSF 4, BSF 5) memberikan hasil masing masing 269,98, 289, 311,8, 361,06, 492,51 ppm. Konduktivitas listrik menunjukan kecenderungan naik walaupun tidak signifikan dengan nilai masing masing dari asam asetat 1%, kitosan, BS, BSF 1, BSF2, BSF 3, BSF 4, BSF 5 adalah 267,3 x 10-6, 268,0 x 10-6, 268,5 x 10-6, 268,9 x 10-6, 268,8 x 10-6, 268,3 x 10-6, 269,1 x 10-6, 269,7 x 10-6 S/cm. Dari pengukuran VSM untuk kitosan dan basa Schiff kitosan menunjukan keteraturan paramagnetik lemah sedangkan film Fe-basa Schiff kitosan menunjukan keteraturan diamagnetik pada saat yang sama menunjukan keteraturan paramagnetik dengan magnetisasi jenuh (Ms) 9,40 emu/gram
