Studi Perbandingan Kadar Logam Arsenik (As) dan Besi (Fe) pada Air Zamzam yang Diperdagangkan dan Air Zamzam Mekkah Melalui Metode Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS)

The research of the comparative study on the level of metal content of Zamzam water that is traded compared with original Zamzam water from Mecca - Saudi Arabia, has been carried out. The analyzed samples were the genuine Zamzam water from Mecca taken by the pilgrims in Mecca and Zamzam water traded in one of the markets in Medan city. Sample I (original Mecca Zamzam water) and sample II (traded Zamzam water) were analyzed on the concentration of the element content of As (arsenic) and Fe (iron). Samples I and II were respectively added by HNO3 (concentrated) up to pH ± 2. The samples were taken for around 100 mL then they were put into a beaker glass and were added 5 mL HNO3 (concentrated). Heated until almost dry, then dissolved in 50 mL of deionized water (DI water) and shake them to homogenize. Then it was determined the level of As and Fe elements using Inductively Coupled Plasma - Mass Spectrometry (ICP - MS). The results showed that the levels of metals in sample water of Zamzam that is originated from Mecca and sample water of the traded Zamzam consecutively is 4.75 mg/L and 8.582 mg/L and Fe for the original Zamzam water samples from Mecca and samples of Zamzam water traded consecutively is 0.222 mg/L and 0.75 mg/L. The metal content of As and Fe in both samples still meet WHO standards and Permenkes 492 / Menkes / Per / IV / 2010. The traded Zamzam water has a much higher concentration composition of As and Fe metals than the concentration composition of Zamzam water which the genuine source is originated from the city of Mecca - Saudi Arabia. Penelitian tentang studi perbandingan kadar logam air zamzam yang diperdagangkan dibandingkan dengan air zamzam mekkah – Arab Saudi telah dilakukan. Sampel yang dianalisis adalah air zamzam asli mekkah yang diambil oleh jemaah haji di kota Mekkah dan air zamzam yang diperdagangkan di salah satu pasar di kota Medan. Sampel I (air zamzam asli mekkah) dan sampel II (air zamzam yang diperdagangkan) dianalisis konsentrasi dari kadar unsur As (arsenik) dan Fe (besi). Sampel I dan II masing – masing ditambahkan HNO3 (pekat) sampai pH ± 2. Diambil sebanyak 100 mL kemudian dimasukkan kedalam beaker glass dan ditambahkan 5 mL HNO3 (pekat). Dipanaskan sampai hampir kering, kemudian larutkan dalam 50 mL air deionisasi (DI water) dan kocok untuk menghomogenkan. Kemudian ditentukan kadar unsur As dan Fe dengan menggunakan Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometry (ICP – MS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar logam As pada sampel air zamzam asli mekkah dan sampel air zamzam yang diperdagangkan berturut-turut adalah 4,75 μg/L dan 8,582 μg/L dan Fe pada sampel air zamzam asli mekkah dan sampel air zamzam yang diperdagangkan berturut-turut adalah 0,222 μg/L dan 0,75 μg/L. Kandungan logam As dan Fe dalam kedua sampel masih memenuhi standar WHO dan Permenkes No.492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010. Adapun air zamzam yang diperdagangkan memiliki komposisi logam As dan Fe yang jauh lebih tinggi nilai konsentrasinya dibandingkan dengan konsentrasi air zamzam yang sumber keasliannya diperoleh dari kota Mekkah – Arab Saudi.
