Pengaruh Pemberian Obat Oral Omega-3 Fatty Acid Dalam Pengobatan Sindroma Mata Kering pada Paramedis yang Telah Menopause di RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Medan

Abstract

Introduction : Dry eyes syndrome caused by associated disease which deficiency of tear layer and components and symptoms often appears are like foreign body sensation, itchy, excessive mucous secretion, tears inability production, burning sensation, photosensitivity, redness, pain, and delicate open the eye lid. Purpose : To find the oral omega-3 fatty acid affected in dry eye syndrome treatment in menopause women at Sumatera Utara General Hospital / Network Hospital in Medan. Methods : This study is a longitudinal prospective analitycal study that compared the alteration in object over a period of time and regularly followed up. Results : There is a significant effects were obtained after oral administration on the administration of omega-3 fatty acid drugs in the treatment of dry eye syndrome patients in menopause women at Sumatera Utara General Hospital/ Medan Hospital Network. Conclusion : There are significant effects between the use of oral omega-3 fatty acid with dry eye syndrome based on a schirmer-1 and TBUT examination.

Pendahuluan : Sindroma mata kering dapat disebabkan oleh penyakit yang berkaitan dengan defisiensi komponen lapisan air mata (akuos, musin atau lipid) dan gejala yang sering muncul adalah sensasi tergores (strachy) atau berpasir, gatal, sekresi mukus yang berlebih, ketidakmampuan menghasilkan air mata, sensasi terbakar, fotosensitivitas, kemerahan, nyeri dan sulit menggerakkan kelopak mata. Tujuan : Untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian obat oral omega-3 fatty acid dalam pengobatan sindroma mata kering pada wanita menopause di RS Sumatera Utara/RS Jejaring Medan. Metode : Penelitian ini bersifat prospektif analitik longitudinal yakni membandingkan perubahan subjek penelitian dalam periode waktu tertentu dan di follow-up secara berkala. Hasil : Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pemberian obat oral omega-3 fatty acid dalam pengobatan pasien sindroma mata kering pada wanita menopause di RS Sumatera Utara / RS Jejaring Medan. Kesimpulan : Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara pemberian oral omega-3 fatty acid dengan sindroma mata kering berdasarkan pemeriksaan schirmer-1 dan TBUT.
