    Abstract
    Ulos weaving of Lumban Suhi Suhi village is one of the traditional Ulos the producer/manufacturer of the biggest Ulos weaving in Samosir. Weaving Ulos in Lumban Suhi-Suhi village was originally a weaving activities undertaken earlier ancestors that aims to meet the clothing needs. The weaving activities later evolved to today, where the weaving activity into a source of livelihood for women in Lumban Suhi Suhi village. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The informants were determined by the procedure purposive. The data were collected by three methods, namely, in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. Based on the research results Ulos weaving business sustainibility is inseparable from the involvement of other parties who widened relation Ulos weavers and entrepreneurs Ulos. The research found that social capital weavers Ulos and entrepreneurs Ulos in the village of Lumban Suhi-Suhi, woke up with a lack of trust in establishing relations of good cooperation, not only with his fellow weavers Ulos, but also relations with other parties such as siblings, neighbors, stakeholders, Tour guide, customers and consumers even with the government. Ulos weaving business sustainibility also marked the norms contained in everyday life, which is formed between businessmen Ulos with weavers Ulos they were able to observe together in business activity, which aims to obtain profit. As well as the value of the spirit of learning and hard work aimed at improving productivity, friendliness value, cleanliness as a form of actions aimed at binding relationships with consumers and customers and creativity as a value that is used to overcome the competition in the business.
     
    Tenun ulos Desa Lumban Suhi-Suhi adalah salah satu tenun ulos tradisonal yang menjadi penghasil/produsen ulos terbesar di Samosir. Tenun ulos di Desa Lumban Suhi-Suhi pada awalnya adalah sebuah kegiatan bertenun yang dilakukan nenek moyang sebelumnya yang bertujuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sandangnya. Kegiatan bertenun ini kemudian berkembang sampai hari ini, dimana kegiatan bertenun menjadi salah satu sumber mata pencaharian bagi perempuan di Desa Lumban Suhi-Suhi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Informan penelitian ditentukan dengan prosedur purposive. Data dikumpulkan dengan tiga metode yaitu, wawancara secara mendalam (in-depth-interview), observasi dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian keberlangsungan usaha tenun ulos tidak terlepas dari keterlibatan pihak lain yang manjadi relasi penenun ulos dan pengusaha ulos. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa modal sosial penenun ulos dan pengusaha ulos di Desa Lumban Suhi-Suhi, terbangun dengan adanya rasa saling percaya dalam menjalin relasi kerjasama yang baik, bukan hanya dengan sesama penenun ulos, tetapi juga relasi dengan pihak lain seperti saudara sekandung, tetangga, stakeholder, pemandu wisata (tour guide), pelanggan dan konsumen bahkan dengan pihak pemerintah. Keberlangsungan usaha tenun ulos juga diwarnai normanorma yang terdapat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, yang terbentuk antar pengusaha ulos dengan penenun ulos yang mampu mereka patuhi bersama dalam aktivitas usahanya, yang bertujuan untuk memeperoleh profit. Serta adanya nilai semangat belajar dan bekerja keras yang bertujuan meningkatkan produktifitas, nillai keramahan, kebersihan sebagai bentuk tindakan yang bertujuan untuk mengikat hubungan dengan konsumen dan pelanggan dan kreatifitas sebagai sebuah nilai yang dimanfaatkan untuk mengatasi persaingan dalam usaha.
