    Abstract
    The title of this thesis is „The Effect of Implementing Word Wall on Students' Vocabulary Achievement.‟ This thesis aims to improve the students‟ vocabulary with a simple medium, namely Word Wall and to extend whether Word Wall influences the students to learn English well. This research applied qualitative descriptive method by using the instruments, namely observation, pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire. The research was conducted at SMPS Dharma Patra Pangkalan Berandan. In this study, the researcher took population and sample. The population of this research was seventh grade students consisted of 184 and divided into five classes. However, the sample in this study was only class VIIA and VIIE. The researcher used a comparison method in which class VIIA as a control class and VIIE as an experimental class. The control class was taught by the conventional method, while the experimental class was taught by the Word Wall method. The research found that Word Wall is effective in improving the students‟ vocabulary which can be seen from the progressive of the result of pre-test compared with post-test. In addition, most of the students did not find any difficulties in learning English vocabulary by the implementation of the Word Wall.
     
    Skripsi ini berjudul ‘The Effect of Implementing Word Wall on Students’ Vocabulary Achievement.’ Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan vocabulary dengan media yang sederhana yaitu Word Wall dan bertujuan apakah Word Wall mempengaruhi siswa-siswi di sekolah dalam mempelajari bahasa Inggris dengan baik. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan instrument seperti observasi, pre-test, post-test, dan kuesioner. Skripsi ini ditulis berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di SMPS Dharma Patra Pangkalan Berandan. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti mengambil populasi dan sampel. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas tujuh yang terdiri dari 184 dan terbagi atas lima kelas. Selain itu, sampel dari penelitian ini hanya kelas VIIA dan VIIE. Peneliti menggunakan metode perbandingan dimana kelas VIIA sebagai kelas control dan VIIE sebagai kelas percobaan. Kelas control akan diajarkan melalui metode seperti biasa, sedangkan kelas percobaan akan diajarkan melalui metode atau media Word Wall. Peneliti menemukan bahwa Word Wall efektif dalam meningkatkan kosakata siswa-siswi yang bisa dilihat dari hasil pre-test dibandingkan dengan post-test. Selain itu, kebanyakan dari siswa-siswi tidak menemukan kesulitan dalam mempelajari kosakata bahasa Inggris dengan cara menerapkan Word Wall.
