Mood Types Analysis in Bangtan Boys (BTS)’ Speech at Unicef

Abstract

This thesis entitled "Mood Types Analysis in BANGTAN BOYS (BTS)' Speech at UNICEF". This study has two objectives, the first one is to describe the type of mood contained in the BANGTAN BOYS (BTS)' speech at UNICEF. Second, is to analyze how the mood types represent the characteristics of BANGTAN BOYS (BTS)' speeches at UNICEF. The method used in this thesis is descriptive qualitative. The data source used in this thesis was a speech read by BANGTAN BOYS (BTS)' at UNICEF. The data is a clauses read by BANGTAN BOYS (BTS)'. The writer collects the data from articles on the internet and print them out. From the analysis of Interpersonal meaning through mood structures, there are 76 subjects and 71 finites. While for residue elements, there are 60 predicators, 64 complements and 96 adjuncts consisting of 16 mood adjuncts, 45 circumstancial adjuncts, and 35 conjunctive adjuncts. From the analysis of mood types, the writer found there are 64 declarative moods, 6 imperative moods and 3 interrogative moods. The most dominant mood type in the speech is declarative. The characteristic of the speech is Inaugurative speech which is a speech read by influential people to formalize something that's why the speaker shows that he was more informative with the statements he said while delivering his speech.

Penelitian ini berjudul "Mood Types Analysis in BANGTAN BOYS '(BTS) Speech at UNICEF". Penelitian ini memiliki dua tujuan, yang pertama adalah untuk menggambarkan tipe mood yang terkandung dalam pidato BANGTAN BOYS (BTS) di UNICEF. Kedua, adalah untuk menganalisis bagaimana tipe mood mewakili karakteristik pidato BANGTAN BOYS (BTS) di UNICEF. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pidato yang dibacakan oleh BANGTAN BOYS '(BTS) di UNICEF. Data yang digunakan adalah klausa yang dibaca oleh BANGTAN BOYS '(BTS). Penulis mengumpulkan data dari artikel di internet dan mencetaknya. Dari analisis makna Interpersonal melalui struktur mood, ada 76 subject dan 71 finite. Sedangkan untuk elemen residu, ada 60 predicator, 64 complement dan 96 adjunct yang terdiri dari 16 mood adjuncts, 45 circumstancial adjuncts, dan 35 conjunctive adjuncts. Dari analisis tipe mood, penulis menemukan ada 64 mood deklaratif, 6 mood imperatif, dan 3 mood interogatif. Tipe mood yang paling dominan dalam pidato tersebut adalah deklaratif. Ciri khas dari pidato tersebut adalah pidato pelantikan yang merupakan pidato yang dibacakan oleh orang-orang berpengaruh untuk memformalkan sesuatu itu sebabnya pembicara menunjukkan bahwa dia lebih informatif dengan pernyataan yang dia katakan saat menyampaikan pidatonya.
