    Abstract
    This thesis is entitled The Questioning And Responding In The Courtroom By Judge Frank Caprio And Defendant: A Forensic Linguistics Analysis. The purpose of this study is to describe the types of questions asked by Judge Frank Caprio and the responses by defendants. As for the background of this research, Judge Frank Caprio interrogated the defendants uniquely, especially when a child was brought into court. The types of questions examined use the Griffith’s Question Map and to analyze the responses of defendants using the Cooperative Principle. There are 7 types of questions raised by Judge Frank Caprio, namely: Appropriate Closed yes- No question, Probing Question, Innapratiate Open Question, Multiple Question, Leading Question, Closed Yes-No Question and Opinion or Statement. The types of responses conveyed by Defendant are: Maxim Of manner, Relevance, and Quantity. During the trial, Maxim Violated was also found.
     
    Skripsi ini berjudul The Questioning And Responding In The Courtroom By Judge Frank Caprio And Defendant: A Forensic Linguistics Analysis. Penulisan penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan jenis-jenis pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh hakim Frank Caprio dan respon oleh terdakwa. Adapun yang menjadi latar belakakang penelitian ini karena hakim frank caprio mengintrogasi para terdakwa dengan unik terutama ketika ada anak kecil dibawa ke dalam persidangan. Tipe-tipe pertanyaan yang dikaji menggunakan Griffith’s Question Map dan untuk menganalisis Respon dari terdakwa menggunakan Cooperative Principle. Ada 7 jenis pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh Hakim Frank caprio yaitu: Appropriate Closed yes-No question, Probing Question, Innapproriate Open Question, Multiple Question, Leading Question, Closed Yes-No Question and Opinion or Statement. Tipe respon yang di sampaikan oleh terdakwa yaitu: Maxim Of manner, Relevance, and Quantity. Dalam persidangan juga ditemukan adanya Maxim Violated.
