Background: Anticoagulant Protein C is designed to regulate coagulation,
maintain flow of blood in the blood vessels, and prevent thrombosis. Protein C
deficiency will cause the risk of thrombosis in flowing venous circulation. In some
cases, patients it was reported that protein C deficiency may increase the risk of
arterial thrombosis, especially in patients diabetes mellitus type 2 with diabetic foot
ulcer.
Aim: To identify change of the level of Protein C in patients diabetes mellitus type
2 with diabetic foot ulcer and without diabetic foot ulcer.
Methods: This study was conducted with a cross-sectional design of 40 patients
diabetes mellitus type 2 with diabetic foot ulcer and without diabetic foot ulcer in
May – July 2017 in H. Adam Malik hospital Medan, underwent test for Protein C.
Data analysed with Mann Whitney U test. P Value <0,05 was considered
statistically significant.
Result: Of 40 subject, 20 (50%) patients with diabetic foot ulcer and 20 (50%)
patients without diabetic foot ulcer, and 13 (65%) male with diabetic foot ulcer and
10 (50%) female without diabetic foot ulcer found that Protein C in patients with
diabetic foot ulcer (22,2) were lower when compared with patients without diabetic
foot ulcer (30,6) and no significant decresed of Protein C level in patient with
diabetic foot ulcer (p=0.665).
Conclusion: There was not found significant difference of Protein C between
patients with diabetic foot ulcer and without diabetic foot ulcer. | en_US |

Latar Belakang: Antikoagulan Protein C dirancang untuk mengatur koagulasi,
menjaga lancarnya aliran darah ke pembuluh darah, dan mencegah trombosis.
Defisiensi Protein C akan menyebabkan resiko trombosis dalam mengalirkan
sirkulasi vena. Dalam beberapa kasus, pasien dilaporkan bahwa defisiensi Protein
C dapat meningkatkan risiko trombosis arteri, terutama pada pasien diabetes
mellitus tipe 2 dengan ulkus kaki diabetik.
Tujuan: Menilai perbandingan penurunan kadar Protein C pada penderita diabetes
melitus tipe 2 dengan ulkus dan tanpa ulkus kaki diabetik.
Metode: Studi ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan studi ptong lintang dengan 40
pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 dengan ulkus dan tanpa ulkus kaki diabetik pada
bulan mei – juli 2017 di rumah sakit umum pusat haji Adam malik medan, yang
kemudian diperiksakan Protein C. Data dianalisa dengan menggunakan Mann
Whitney U test. P Value <0,05 dikatakan signifikan secara statistik.
Hasil: Dari 40 subjek, 20 (50%) pasien dengan ulkus kaki diabetik dan 20 (50%)
pasien tanpa ulkus kaki diabetik, dan 13 (65%) pria dengan ulkus diabetik dan 10
(50%) wanita tanpa ulkus kaki diabetik menemukan bahwa Protein C pada pasien
dengan ulkus diabetik (22,2) lebih rendah bila dibandingkan dengan pasien tanpa
ulkus kaki diabetik (30,6) dan tidak dijumpai penurunan yang signifikan pada
kelompok ulkus kaki diabetik(p = 0,665).
Kesimpulan: Dijumpai penurunan kadar protein C antara ulkus kaki diabetik
dengan tanpa ulkus kaki dabetik, dimana nilai protein C pasien dengan ulkus kaki
diabetik lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan tanpa ulkus kaki diabetik, namun
penurunan tidak signifikan secara statistic. | en_US |
