    Pembuatan dan Karakterisasi Beton Polimer dari Serat Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit dan Cangkang Telur dengan Resin Polyester

    Abstract
    Dalam studi ini, beton polimer dibuat menggunakan pasir, serbuk cangkang telur, serat tandan kosong kelapa sawit, dan resin polyester. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan limbah cangkang telur, serat tandan kosong kelapa sawit, dan resin polyester terhadap sifat fisis dan sifat mekanik beton polimer. Variasi komposisi dikempa dengan hot press pada suhu 90° selama 25 menit. Parameter yang diamati antara lain sifat fisis (densitas, porositas, penyerapan air) dan mekanis (kuat impak, kuat lentur,kuat tekan), serta analisis mikrostruktur menggunakan SEM-EDX. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa kondisi optimum yang dieroleh karakteristik beton polimer sebagai berikut: densitas (1,85 gr/cm3) ,porositas (0,52%) dan penyerapan air (0,29%), kuat impak (64,94 J/m2), kuat lentur (27,66 MPa), kuat tekan (18,53 MPa). Beton polimer ini memenuhi standar beton ringan dengan keseluruhan hasil densitas lebih kecil dari 1,9 gr/cm3. Hasil foto SEM terhadap mikrostruktur menunjukkan bahwa penambahan resin polyester dapat mengikat bahan dengan baik sehingga pori-pori yang ada pada permukaan sampel beton polimer lebih sedikit. Beton polimer ini lebih ringan dari beton konvensional.
     
    In this study, polymer concrete was made using sand, eggshell powder, oil palm empty fruit bunches, and polyester resin. This study was conducted to determine the effect of the addition of eggshell waste, oil palm empty fruit bunches, and polyester resin to the physical and mechanical properties of polymer concrete. Variations in composition were compressed with a hot press at 90 ° for 25 minutes. The parameters observed were physical properties (density, porosity, water absorption) and mechanical (impact strength, flexural strength, compressive strength), and microstructure analysis using SEM-EDX. The measurement results show that the optimum conditions obtained by the polymer concrete characteristics are as follows: density (1.85 gr / cm3), porosity (0.52%) and water absorption (0.29%), impact strength (64.94 J / m2 ), flexural strength (27.66 MPa), compressive strength (18.53 MPa). This polymer concrete meets lightweight concrete standards with an overall density yield of less than 1.9 g / cm3. SEM photo results on the microstructure show that the addition of polyester resin can bind the material well so that there are fewer pores on the surface of the polymer concrete sample. This polymer concrete is lighter than conventional concrete.
