    Meningkatkan Karakterisasi Beton Polimer Berbasis Limbah Cangkang Kopi dan Batu Apung dengan Campuran Resin Polyester dan Resin Polyurethane

    Abstract
    Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk pembuatan dan karakterisasi beton polimer menggunakan pasir, batu apung, cangkang kopi serta campuran resin polyester dan resin polyurethane. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pencampuran resin pada beton polimer. Diharapkan, kombinasi resin polyester dan resin polyurethane dapat meningkatkan karakteristik beton polimer yang diperoleh. Komposisi cangkang kopi yang divariasikan adalah (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10) gram dengan variasi campuran resin 1 : 1 adalah (20, 25, 30) gram. Kemudian, ditekan dengan menggunakan Hotpress pada temperatur 170°C selama 30 menit. Karakterisasi beton polimer meliputi sifat fisik (densitas, porositas dan penyerapan air), sifat mekanik (kuat tekan, kuat tarik dan kuat lentur), serta analisis mikrostruktur dengan SEMEDX. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai densitas (1,22 - 1,63) x 103 kg/m3; porositas (11,2 - 53,2) %; penyerapan air (6,87 - 38,47) %; kuat tekan (1,39-14,04) MPa; kuat tarik (0,73 - 3,76) MPa; dan kuat lentur (1,23 - 19,67) MPa. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa beton polimer dengan campuran resin polyester dan resin polyurethane dapat meningkatkan porositas, penyerapan air, kuat tekan, kuat lentur, dan juga menurunkan densitas. Analisis mikrostruktur SEM-EDX menunjukkan dengan penambahan campuran resin polyester dan resin polyurethane meningkatkan kualitas beton polimer.
     
    The research has been carried out to manufacture and characterization of polymer concrete using sand, pumice, coffee shell and the mixture of polyester-polyurethane resins. This research was conducted to determine the effect of mixing resins to polymer concrete. Expectedly, the combination of polyester resin and polyurethane resin could improve the characteristics of the obtained polymer concrete. Composition of coffee shell which varied are (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10) grams with variations of mixed resin 1 : 1 are (20, 25, 30) grams. Then, it’s pressed by using Hotpress at 170 °C for 30 minutes. The characterization of polymer concrete includes physical properties (density, porosity and water absorption), mechanical properties (compressive strength, tensile strength and flexural strength), and microstructure analysis with SEM-EDX. The results of research showed that density value (1.22- 1.63 x 103 kg/m3; porosity (11.2-53.2) %; water absorbtion (6.87-38.47) %; compressive strength (1.39-14.04) MPa; tensile strength (0.73-3.76) MPa; and flexural strength (1.23-19.67) MPa. These results showed that polymer concrete using mixture of polyester-polyurethane resins can increased porosity, water absorption, compressive strength, flexural strength, and also decreased the density. SEM-EDX microstructure analysis shows that the addition of a mixture of polyester resins and polyurethane resins improves the quality of polymer concrete.
