    Pembuatan dan Karakterisasi Beton Polimer dari Serbuk Cangkang Telur dan Serat Sabut Kelapa dengan Resin Epoksi

    Abstract
    Telah dilakukan penelitian pembuatan dan karakterisasi beton polimer dengan menggunakan perbandingan komposisi: pasir, serbuk cangkang telur, serat sabut kelapa dan resin epoksi untuk mengetahui variasi terbaik dari komposisi tersebut. Variasi komposisi tersebut dicetak pada Hot Press dengan suhu 90˚C selama 30 menit. Parameter yang diamati adalah pengujian densitas, porositas, penyerapan air, kuat impak, kuat lentur, kuat tekan dan analisis mikrostruktur menggunakan SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa campuran yang optimum diperoleh karakteristik beton polimer sebagai berikut: densitas = 1,68 gr/cm³, porositas = 1,14%, penyerapan air = 0,73%, kuat impak = 132,3 J/m², kuat lentur = 22,54 MPa, kuat tekan = 15,84 MPa. Hasil foto SEM terhadap mikrostruktur beton polimer menunjukkan bahwa penambahan resin epoksi dapat mengikat bahan menjadi lebih homogen sehingga meminimalisir rongga. Beton polimer ini lebih ringan dari beton konvensional.
     
    Research of polymer concrete had been made by using sands, eggshell powder, coco fiber and epoxy resin to know the best combination of the compositions. Composition of variations was made in Hot Press with temperature of 90˚C for 30 minutes. Parameter was observed by the experiment of density, porosity, water absorption, impact strengh, bending strengh, compressive strengh and analysis by SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope). The result of research showed that the optimum combination obtained the characteristics of polymer concrete as follows: density = 1,68 gr/cm³, porosity = 1,14%, water absorption = 0,73%, impact strengh = 132,3 J/m², bending strengh = 22,54 MPa, compressive strengh = 15,84 MPa. SEM photo results on the polymer concrete microstructure showed that the addition of epoxy resin can bind the material to be more homogenous so as to minimize the pore. This polymer concrete are lighter than conventional concrete.
