    Pengaruh Penambahan Kaolin Terhadap Sifat Termal dan Sifat Antibakteri Film Kitosan-CuO/Kaolin

    Abstract
    Penelitian tentang pengaruh penambahan kaolin terhadap sifat termal dan sifat antibakteri dari film kitosan-CuO/kaolin telah dilakukan. Film kitosan- CuO/Kaolin dapat digunakan sebagai kemasan makanan. Modifikasi kitosan–CuO dengan kaolin dilakukan dengan variasi massa kitosan – CuO dan kaolin yaitu 2:1; 2:0,75; 2:0,5; 2:0,25; 2:0 (b/b). Karakterisasi dalam penelitian adalah FTIR, SEM, dan secara Termal oleh TGA. Selain itu, sifat antimikroba diuji terhadap bakteri Gram Positif yaitu Staphylococcus aureus dan bakteri Gram Negatif yaitu Escherichia coli. Hasil FTIR menunjukkan terjadinya pelebaran puncak O-H yang terletak pada kitosan-CuO/kaolin 0,75 gram. Hasil SEM kitosan-CuO/kaolin dengan penambahan 0,75 gram terlihat permukaan kaolin lebih padat, berpori dan halus dibandingkan permukaan pada kitosan-CuO, kitosan-CuO/0,25 gram kaolin, kitosan-CuO/0,5gram kaolin. Ini karena telah tercampur merata antara kitosan- CuO/kaolin. Dalam sifat uji antibakteri kitosan-CuO/kaolin terlihat zona hambat yang tinggi dengan penambahan 0,75 gram kaolin. Hasil uji termal juga menunjukkan pada penambahan kaolin 0,75gram, terlihat pada stabilitas termal yang lebih besar nilai suhunya dibandingkan penambahan kaolin sebanyak 1 gram, 0,5 gram, 0,25 gram dan tanpa penambahan kaolin. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah film dari kitosan-CuOkaolin yang kemudian digunakan sebagai kemasan makanan untuk berbagai industri makanan.
     
    Research on the effect of adding kaolin to the thermal and antibacterial properties of the chitosan-CuO / kaolin film has been carried out. Chitosan-CuO / Kaolin film can be used as food packaging. Modification of chitosan - CuO with kaolin is done by varying the mass of chitosan - CuO and kaolin which is 2:1; 2:0.75; 2:0.5; 2:0.25; 2:0 (w / w). Characterization in this research is FTIR, SEM, and Thermal by TGA. In addition, antimicrobial properties were tested for Gram positive bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus and Gram negative bacteria, Escherichia coli. FTIR results show the widening of the O-H peak which is located on chitosan- CuO / kaolin 0.75 gram. The results of SEM chitosan-CuO / kaolin with the addition of 0.75 grams showed that the surface of kaolin was denser, porous and smoother than the surface of chitosan-CuO, chitosan-CuO / 0.25 gram of kaolin, chitosan-CuO / 0.5 gram of kaolin. This is because it has been mixed evenly between chitosan-CuO / kaolin. In the antibacterial test properties of chitosan-CuO / kaolin seen a high inhibition zone with the addition of 0.75 grams of kaolin. The thermal test results also showed the addition of 0.75gram kaolin, seen in thermal stability which was greater in temperature compared to the addition of 1 gram of kaolin, 0.5 gram, 0.25 gram and without the addition of kaolin. The results of this study are films from chitosan-CuO / kaolin which are then used as food packaging for various food industries.
